This tours cover regions of exceptionally beautiful desert, coastal, lakes and mountain terrain. For that reason, riding times and distances to be covered each day are calculated to allow the opportunity to appreciate the natural beauty of the areas to be visited. Tour members should have International health and accident insurance, contracted in their country of origin. For this expedition, members must bring a good quality sleeping bag, designed for near-freezing (0º C, 32º F) temperatures in the mountains. (One night only.) The luggage to be taken on the tour will be limited to a sports bag of no more than 90 x 40 x 40 cms. (35 x 16 x 16 in.). These will be transported in the support vehicle. Each member should have his own small backpack (±50 x 40 x 25 cm., 20 x 16 x 10 in.) for daily use on the trip. In Chile the use of a helmet is required by law. We also recommend the use of boots. As nights in the desert are often cold, we also recommend the use of a sweater and parka. The minimum age for tour members is 18 and the maximum age is 55. All members must have a valid motorcycle drivers license and be in good physical condition. This excursion is for experienced motorcyclists - capable of handling loose sand and mud. Participants should have a minimum of 2000 km. (1250 mi.) of experience off-road. Due to the nature of this tour, the motorcycles used do not carry insurance against damage. Each member of the tour must have a valid Credit Card with an available credit limit sufficient to cover any possible damage to the motorcycle.
The motorcycles to be used will be new (no more than 10 000 km. - 6000 mi.). |
